Gasby Brown

Gasby Brown graduated from Harvard University with an MPA and she conducted advanced research in New Communications Technology at MIT while participating in its renowned Media Lab. Her career accomplishments include being the New York Correspondent for BET; a reporter for Fox Television’s WNYW in New York; and host of “Starz Talk!,” a syndicated radio show distributed to 250 stations across the country. She is also the author of several books including “Art of Praise, 7 Fatal Flaws of Non-Profit Boards and How to Fix Them,” “The Seven Qualities of Capital Campaign Success” and is also completing “The Business of a Spiritual Matter,” specifically written for faith based organizations. Her latest book project, “Think Like a Non-Profit; Act Like a Business” will be released in 2017.

Entirely self–taught and inspired by visions, dreams and ideas, Gasby has become a prolific artist, capturing a variety of genres including abstract, realism and expressionism extracted from her life experiences and world view. Owners of her art represent an elite group of collectors across the country including television personalities, sports figures, as well as corporate, political, civic and religious leaders. 

Gasby has an unparalleled passion for the non – profit industry. Her work and impact are testaments to her strong belief in the need for good philanthropic practices. She is a faculty member of the prestigious The Fund Raising School (TFRS) at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and also an adjunct faculty member at the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving for their Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF).

Gasby is a member of First Baptist Church of Glenarden and serves as the female voice- over talent for “Developing Dynamic Disciples,” the FBCG radio and television broadcast ministry. She resides in Prince George’s County, Md., with her husband and partner, Kenneth R. Brown.
